    High Intensity Training Case Study

    This will be the final newsletter before we select the people for the case study. If you are interested in being a part of this project please read on below.

    What we are looking for is 20 people who would be willing to scrap their current workout programs and replace them with one of ours for 8 weeks. After the 8 weeks we would like to have you report back to us on your progress by filling out a questionaire and conducting a telephone interview.

    In your email please tell us why you would like to be involved in this study as well as some history of your training and grappling experience.

    If you are choosen you will receive an email with your questionaire and training program.


    Grapplers Gym Training Seminars

    Grapplers Gym is proud to announce that this summer we are going to start conducting training seminars for combat athletes. We have a large list of topics that we will be covering but if there is anything that you would like to learn more about please feel free to email me and we will get it added to the schedules.

    Coach Mike and I would also like to get a idea of the size of the venue that we need to secure so if you would be interested in attending one of the seminars please let me know so we can get a idea of what we will need.


    Playground Training

    Here is a great cardio circuit that you can do at your local park to help break up the training week. Preform as many sets as needed. After each set rest for 30 seconds.

    1. Jog 2 laps around field
    2. 10 pushups
    3. 10 pullups
    4. 10 med ball slams
    5. rest 30 seconds

    1. 1 lap around field 50% effort
    2. 20 dumbbell / kettlebell swings
    3. 10 burpees
    4. 20 V sit ups (v-ups)
    5. rest 30 seconds

    1. 2 laps 75% and 100%
    2. 5 x 10 seconds isometric holds of at top of pull- up
    3. 10 Burpees
    4. 20 knee raises from hanging position


    Exercise of the Week: Lateral Lunges

    1. 1. Start by placing the sandbag on your right
    2. 2. Proceed to lunge to the right with your right foot.
    3. 3. Return to the starting position and repeat required reps
    4. Repeat on the other side
