Here are some great facts about what happens to our skin when we wash it and why "WE" are the ones who allow ourselves to get skin infections. http://www.grapplersgym.com/public/313.cfm? sd=2

If you are a wrestler, grapplers, or MMA fighter and you do not use defensesoap then your leaving yourself open to infection. We give each of our athletes a bar to use and none of them have yet to come down with anything. ITS REALLY THAT GOOD

What Else Can Be Done in those Magic Stairwells

Here are some ideas I have come across over the years to make Real Stair Climbing" workouts more intense, more fun, and more interesting.

    Conditioning, Conditioning, Conditioning
    Grapplers Conditioning

Here is a great 3 way partner drill that you can use at the end of practice to push yourself and test your mental toughness

You will perform this drill for 6 minutes.

Each person is going to take turns competiting for 40 seconds with a 20 second break. At the 20 second point the person who was resting will engage in what ever position the partner was in when the clock stopped.

So every 20 seconds a new partner will come in and drill but you never stop regardless of the move. If you get 3 people who push themselves hard you will find that this is a great drill to finish off a practice. Trust me 20 seconds rest feels like 2 seconds after you get tired. This drill will also teach you how to relax yourself quickly

STRETCHING & FLEXIBILITY are NOT the same thing!

Almost daily, I receive questions about flexibility training for young athletes. So, I decided to take a moment to reveal my flexibility training standards for you... the good, bad and completely wrong!

Top 5 Pieces of Training Equipment Every Grapplers Must Have

Here is my top 5 list of equipment that is an must have for any grappler and not in any order.

    1. Flexbands
    2. Climbing Rope
    3. Dumbbells
    4. Jump Rope
    5. Sandbag

With the equipment on this list I can turn an average grappler into a AWESOME grappler. Next newsletter I will tell you why I feel so strongly about each piece of equipment and why each piece could do for you.

Fish Oil Rules - By Dr. John Berardi

I consider fish oil to be an essential supplement for fat loss. Data from the University of Western Ontario shows that fish oil supplementation increases lean body mass (during non-dieting conditions), increases BMR (by up to 400kcal/day), decreases inflammation, and improves the ratio of fat/carb oxidized (sparing carbs, burning fat). Recommended dose: Start with 6- 10g per day of total fish oil (assuming 30% EPA and DHA).
