  • John Brookfields Battling Rope Training

Wanted to introduce you to a great new product that is hitting the training market by storm. Battling ropes are the creation of John Brookfield, world-renown grip master, strength expert, and public speaker.

Battling ropes is a total body workout that you can do anywhere. Check out the link to a introduction video from Coach Brookfield.

I will be loading up some videos and more training tips in the next few days.

The Clamp - Top 10 Grip Drills for Combat Athletes

    1. Rope Climbing
    2. Farmer Walks
    3. Dead Lift Holds
    4. Bar Hangs
    5. Kettlebell swings
    6. Battling Ropes
    7. Sledge Hammer slams
    8. Rolling Thunder pull ups
    9. Tug of War with 2" rope
    10. Plate Pinches

Conditioning Drills for Grappler's and Combat Athletes

Here are three 6 station conditioning drills that you can perform during your grappling practices to help improve your teams conditioning and mental toughness. If you dont have teammates who are willing to step up and take the challenge then get out your gymboss timer and do theses workout by yourself...

Beyond Oatmeal - Creative Massive Eating Recipes Part 1 - Protein and Carb Meals

If you're like me, once you grasped the intricacies of John Berardi's dietary combinations outlined in his Massive Eating and Don't Diet programs, you began to suffer the cruel fate of food monotony. The taste and creativity of a meal quickly takes a position on the backburner when six meals a day must be planned with precise macronutrients ratios, within an ever-evolving daily caloric goal. When I began, I found myself grabbing two cans of tuna and a pile of brown rice, and calling it a meal.

    What is Hydration?

If we lose more fluid than we replace the result is dehydration. Normally, the fluid depletion is signaled by thirst and is replenished by drinking. If the fluid lost is not replaced within a few days, severe dehydration develops, and can lead to changes in the body's chemistry, kidney failure and may even be fatal. This severe form of dehydration is considered a medical emergency.

ZMA for Deep Sleep - By Dr. John Berardi

ZMA is useful for improving the quality of your sleep. For me, ZMA tends not to induce sleep as much as deepen it. Expect your dreams to be extremely vivid! My athletes, when traveling, or when under heavy training loads, usually included 2-3 ZMA capsules before bed.

Workout of the Week - The Puker

This weeks workout gets its name because during my last private training session all 3 of my clients ended up puking during the workout..

    • 10 min dynamic warmup
    • stretching with flexbands
    • 6 rep flexband complex (8 exercises) x 3 sets, zero rest
    • flexband harness drills
    • Grapplers Partner Complex
    • 15 Grouling Minutes (sandbag complex)
    • Javorek special abdominal complex with med ball
